Building systems that work together.

I design, automate, and troubleshoot environments spanning software, virtualization, networking, storage, data, and home automation—then make the complicated parts feel manageable.

Technical breadth without losing the details.

My work sits at the intersection of infrastructure, software, data, and operations. I enjoy understanding how every layer fits together—from physical hardware and network paths to applications, automation, and the people using them.

I bring enterprise infrastructure experience, software and scripting skills, graduate-level data work, and a hands-on lab where ideas are built and tested for real.

That combination has taught me to approach technical problems from both directions: zoom out far enough to design the right system, then zoom in far enough to find the one configuration, dependency, or assumption causing trouble.

This site brings together my professional interests, technical projects, Master's-program case studies, and the self-hosted infrastructure behind sherga.net.

Selected projects.

Practical systems built to solve real problems—not isolated demos that disappear after the screenshot.

01 / PLATFORM

Virtualization and storage platform

A Proxmox environment hosting virtual machines and Linux containers, backed by ZFS storage, GPU-enabled workloads, centralized backups, and service-specific mount design.

02 / NETWORK

Segmented and securely published network

A pfSense-centered network with VLAN isolation, internal DNS, WireGuard and Tailscale access, HAProxy routing, automated certificates, and Cloudflare-proxied services.

03 / AUTOMATION

Home automation and local intelligence

A dedicated Home Assistant system coordinating cameras, sensors, Zigbee, Z-Wave, Matter, MQTT, media, presence, and local voice and AI experiments.

04 / TOOLING

Operational scripting and workflow automation

PowerShell, shell, and Python tooling for remote inventory collection, backups, media processing, bulk data handling, system migration, and repeatable administration.

PowerShellPythonBashAutomation

A homelab designed like a small production environment.

Layered networking, deliberate trust boundaries, redundant storage, service isolation, remote access, monitoring, and recovery all work as one system.

Graduate data case studies.

Original work from my Master's program, preserved here while the presentation is gradually modernized.
